Development on this project has been on hold for quite some time, but I would like to get it moving again. The first step would be to re-deploy much of it using GhostMVC.
The next step is to build the quiz from scratch (again) this time incorporating the concept of 'done' and of spaced repetition.

I think for the quiz, it should have two modes, memorize and test. Memorize is the current mode and it runs until the average is above 70% (this number needs to be experimentally derived). Then it goes into test mode where every question has to be answered correctly 2 times in a row. When it is answered correctly 3 times in a row it is removed from the deck, but the deck cannot drop below 10 questions (this means the last 10 cards left should be the hardest and in most need of review).

Consider changing the names of the 3 apps to reflect how they help the brain. 'Journal' => 'Tracking', 'Quiz' => 'Memorize' and 'Dual N-Back' => 'Fluid Intelligence'.

Yet Another Rebuild

Albeit a minor one, I'm keeping most of the UI, at least for the terminal (which is currently most of the UI). The big change is that I'm going to move the backend to Go.

I may try generating a lot of the code, I had some luck with that in dist.ribut.us. Store models as json and generate them.

Storage

MariaDB - there's a lot of indexing so I think that will be easier than key/value for now.

Push Notification

Fuck, mobile is a mess.

Or the push api, but that's also a fucking mess.

Other Concerns

  • routing
  • security
    • sign-in
    • remember tokens
    • xss
