With Google Reader shutting down, I haven't been able to find a decent replacement. I'm thinking of rolling my own. But I'd like to expand on the features a little.

Main

  • RSS Reader
  • Filter Reader - add rules to your rss, automatically exclude articles based on certain criteria
  • Read-It-Later - add a single article to your reading backlog
  • Recommender - compares your likes to other readers likes and automatically adds some to your list
  • File Output - grabs all the content from from your backlog and produces a single file (pdf, ePub, Kindle) that you can download.
  • Curated Lists - Users (or groups of users) can create a list and add articles to the lists. Because they come from an individual feed, even if you subscribe to many, you won't get duplicates.
  • Scanner - Add feeds that only have a few good articles, but when a threshold is reached, add it to the collection.

Crawler

Crawl websites (possibly custom consumer for things like Twitter) for relevant content.
