Got my CHIP yesterday, think I'm going to like this.

Has wifi, so once it's setup, I can log in, but I need video for setup.

Video

Does composite out, need to find a screen that supports this or get an adapter.

Supposedly, with USB OTG, I could log in with screen - I should try that.

Battery

This is cool - it has built in LiPo support, JST-PH 2.0mm connector, battery is about $7.

USB

It has OTG, will definitely want to check that out, perhaps this could power my keyboard.

Project Ideas

Retro Radio

Build an old style radio case. Use a thumb drive for storage, add some speakers, get an amp board module (~$5 for 30W) and some speakers (I still have my very old ones, I could pull the cones out of those).

Add an HD44780 module and some buttons for simple playback. Use the wifi/bluetooth for more control. Now we can upload music, create playlists. Easiest solution might be to add a DNS entry on the router.

This might also be a good place to test out voice commands.

Hemming-Write

Lauren would like this - just the chip, a keyboard and a display. Good project to try using a 7" lcd. Total cost would be ~$50.
