I may want to try using FlightGear or X-Plane.
Computer
Needs to be a decent rig, but it could be fairly small, built right into the pod. I would like to do 3 monitors out so that there can be a main window and two side windows.
Speakers - decent 5.1 speakers will do a lot for this project.
Controls
- Yoke: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102008&Tpk=yoke (135)
- Pedals: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102003 (100)
Pod
It would need to fit in the basement. Basic 2 axis rotation. Need to pull the force vector from the game (or calculate it) and rotate the user so that they are facing that direction.
