Aquaponics
Good system - protein from fish, helps fertilize the plants. All good.
Can the system produce the fish food too? 25% can come from duckweed. Probably need to incorporate nitrogen fixing bacteria.
Plants
Need good candidates. High protein, high fat. But needs to grow quickly and not take up too much space.
or soybeans? Lentils?
Chickpeas
Takes 100 days to reach 18". Could be done with a conveyor system, perhaps 10 stages. Early stages could be more compact.
Hazelnuts
These grow on a bush.
Automation
One goal here is continuous production. A traditional farm needs massive equipment because every task is done in a small window. We can gain efficiency with systems that are in continuous use but average out to the same production.
Recycling
Can inedible parts of plants be recycled into the aqua system?
Mushrooms
Yeah, these too.
CO2
It may be possible to use CO2 as a pesticide.
Bootstrap
I've got notes about this elsewhere too (I think), but it could be bootstrapped with high value plants like basil and oregano.
Bees
How large would a farm need to be to support a bee hive?
