This is the flagship application. Most users will probably end up thinking of "Installing Speakeasy" not "Installing Waxnet".
The initial goal of Speakeasy is to let users establish a social network, post images and text, and send messages to individuals or groups.
Later, I want to refine this. One interesting trend is the inclination to tools of limited power. I think this will benefit from that - the tools that are the most limited (small amounts of short lived data) will be most core. More powerful tools (like email) will be less featured.
Context
Speakeasy is really meant to be a collection of tools for communication with people you have some connection to IRL. Eventually I'd like all of the following services:
- Email/Direct messaging
- Social broadcasting (status, pictures, posts, "tweets")
- Voip (both voice and video)
- Chat
