I'd like to build a driver around the AtTiny2313. It has 18 IO pins. I'll use 4 pins for the driver out, 1 pin for direction, 1 pin out to indicate if the motor is stopped. That leaves 12 pins for steps and speed.

This document tracks a number of small exercises to prototype. The goal is not a final product but skill building.

  • Control a stepper motor
  • Rotary encode rotation data
  • Use a servo-motor
  • Build a filter (Hi-pass, low-pass, mid-pass)
  • Use the AVR chip from an Arduino (off the board)
  • Build a class D amp
  • Use an FTDI chip with AVR
  • Use an SPI LCD with AVR
