A 6 led dice roller. Generates a random number and displays it on the LEDs. I saw a cool one that included a shake-generator (magnets in tube with a coil) so that the shaking action triggered the random number generator and powered the device.

Might be cool to hook this up to a HD44780 module and put a small rotary on it for 4, 6, 2x6, 8, 10, 12, 20, 100.

It might also be possible to hook a small motor up as a generator and have a spinner to create power. Off center weight could be used to give it the dice shake feel. Or a spinner on the side.

 1 2
 3 4 5
 6 7
  • 1: 4
  • 2: 6,2
  • 3: 4,6,2
  • 4: 6,2,1,7
  • 5: 4,6,2,1,7
  • 6: 6,2,1,7,3,5

So there's 4 sets. And 3 of them "cascade" (if 1 is on, 6 is on, if 3 is on, 1 is on).

This is a surprisingly difficult circuit to layout. I should be using design software anyway so this could be one of my first toy projects to test KiCAD.
