Something between an armchair and desk-chair. I'd like to use the flexibility of the wood to make it more comfortable. The challenge this creates is making it strong enough to not break but still springy and designing it so that as pieces shift they won't pinch, but also keeping the gaps small enough.

The core of the chair would be strong and stable. The position for the back, seat and arms would be adjustable. Then there would be a layer of wood springs between the support and the surfaces - though the surfaces would probably be directly connected at the edges.

I may be able to get the desired flexibility by taking a solid piece of wood and varying it's thickness across it's length. The thin spots would flex while the thick parts would provide support. It might also make sense to use laminates - layering like a long bow.
