Goals

• Metal
  • Mill 36"x12"x6" to 1-thou as defined by CAD
  • Lathe 36"x12"x12" to 1-thou as defined by CAD
  • cut long metal stock down to dimension
• Wood
  • mill raw lumber up to 8'x1'x6"
  • All cuts made with a table or band saw, particularly cutting down to dimension
  • Accurate drilling
• Plastic
  • Produce plastic parts defined by CAD drawings.
• Physical Measurement
  • Dial
  • Caliper
• Electrical Measurement
  • Oscilloscope
  • Multi-meter
  • Signal Analyser
• Circuit Design
  • Board layout (layers?)
  • Pick and place
  • Solder Oven

These goals do not have to be accomplished in the traditional manors. If a 5 axis mill and produce a lathe quality finish, we don't need a metal lathe.
