This is intended to be a detailed guide to how we will build our Earthship.

Pre-Tires

  1. Build work shed (2x4 frame with plywood walls. Simple)
  2. Run Electrical to the shed
  3. Stake out footprint
  4. Dig down to below frost line

Tires

  1. Layout and fill first row of tires
  2. Place drainage pipes
  3. Second row
  4. Third row
  5. Place cisterns and thermal wrap
  6. Remaining tires and thermal wrap
  7. Cover tires in concrete (or does this happen after the roof)

Finishing Tires

  1. Cap tires with studs
  2. Place wood frame on tires

Framing

  1. Place support beams (in line with front of tires)
  2. Place roof supports
  3. Frame windows
  4. Deck roof and place skylights

Roof

  1. Plastic layer on roof
  2. Insulating layer on roof
  3. Metal roof

Windows

  1. Place windows
  2. Seal windows

Interior

  1. Planters
  2. Floor
  3. Walls (drywall)
  4. Electrical (how does this get from the shed to the house)
