Build Steps TA
This is intended to be a detailed guide to how we will build our Earthship.
Pre-Fabrication
- wood gas generator
- 12 panel solar setup
- solar thermal panel
Probably also want some sort of small tractor.
Buy Land
Not much to say, but this is going to be a long, painful process.
Car Port
A small, pole construction with just a roof, no walls. Provides shade and a place to keep tools while the Tiny House is setup.
Power
Get get solar setup. This is necessary to power the tools for everything else.
It may be necessary to have a generator as well. We'll see. If I can get a wood gas generator setup before, that would be great, but don't wait for that.
Maybe build a pole structure carport and put the panels on that. It would give some good experience and the area under it could be used for a lot early on.
Start Tiny House
Probably a 10'x10' raised foundation construction. During early construction I can keep tools here and sleep here. I also want to get the sanitation system setup early both because it will be needed and so that I can test it out.
Greenhouse
Moving in will take years, but I can setup a greenhouse and start extracting value in a few months.
Workshop
Polebarn construction. This will hold both the tools as well as a lot of mechanical systems.
Primary Structure
- Foundation: I'm leaning towards contracting to have a basement constructed.
