A collection of the greatest thinking tools to date assembled over a decade.

I believe that there are a few hundred concepts that provide a solid set of tools for thinking about and modeling the world. I would like to gather those tools together in serial form.

Format

Once a month for a decade, a new installment would be released. Each installment would contain one article for each of a set of categories. The articles should be on the order of ten pages or less.

In addition to the monthly subscription model, a yearly publication will be made collecting the works into a volume. There will be some distinguing aspects. Primarily, the monthly publication will contain some additional materials about the state of the project. The yearly volume will only be the collection of published works.

Objective

Upon completion, the collection should provide a foundation for thinking about the world. The set will have 120 entries in each category, and probably around 1,000 pages. This should be enough depth to give a solid foundation to each topic but not excessivly long to be insurmountable.

Strategy

By releasing the works monthly it should be possible to build up momentum. With less traction and funding, it should still be possible to produce good works on the low hanging fruit. If the project lives up to its potential, it should gain the facilities it needs to adequitly explore the remaining spaces fully and choose the points that best achieve the objective.

Work on the first volume should begin about a year before it's publication, actually work on the first twelve volumes should begin a year before their publication with an effort to keep that sort of lead. This is important at the beginning because the set of 80 or so works would allow the organization to highlight a few as exemplarary and provide them as examples to the other authors during editing.

Maintainance

Over it's life and after it's completion, it will still be important to maintain the collection. Errata will be correct and possibly if it is deemed necessary, one work will be pulled from the collection and replaced with another. These updates will run in the monthly publication, but will simply be corrected for the yearly volumes.
