Gardens TA

The gardens have two goals. The first is to provide food, but I also want it to create a pleasant space.

There are three main sections, the Greenhouse, the raised beds and the orchard. All three will be primarily oriented towards production, but also incorporate living space. This gives a good range; the orchard will provide shade in the summer, the raised beds will provide space for evenings or late summer and the greenhouse provides space for winter.

I would like to grow enough food to cover most of our needs. It may also be nice to grow enough extra to barter or sell.

I like the benchmark of 10% - if I spend $100 that should offset $10 worth of food per year. I also expect those sorts of investments to last at least 20 years.
