Income

For Sale

A source of income is building things that fall with in our expertise. I can take some custom orders. I can also do a lot of CNC programming. For instance, if I design a chair and program the cut into the mill, I should be able to produce them quickly and sell them on our site. Lego and KNex projects will be more time consuming but also more fun. I do think there is a market for Lego designs, for instance, business that want an interesting display piece.

  • Custom lego or knex (clocks)
  • Wood projects (chairs, clocks, boxes)
  • Gingerbread houses
  • Kits

Software

Expanding on the thoughts I have on Moon-jumper, I will produce software and look for support - Kick-starter, paid-support subscriptions, donations and advertising.

  • Moon-Jumper
  • Anything else I make

Research

One of the big aspects is to get a site going and fill it with cool research. How-to, video, projects - anything I find interesting should be able to go up there. I will need to be disciplined and meticulously record projects while they are in progress. One thing that would help with this is web-cams that send their feedback back to a central source so that I don't have to monkey with batteries or cards.

Setup

Workshop

Wood, metal and plastic work. Tools for cutting and shaping, along with CNC machinery

Lighting and Cleanroom

Cleanroom with highly controlled lighting. This will be used for painting and photography. Air needs to be filter. Sound insulation, walls and floor will all be painted white, when painting or staining is being done, a drop cloth will be used.

Electronics Lab

Sort of self explanatory.

Prototyping Lab

This is where we keep the toys. Also things like cardboard and cardstock. This is an environment for building models and trying out mechanisms.

Office

This space will serve the most diverse set of needs. Paperwork, programming and networking.
