Vulcan Cable

Vulcan will setup a small network. The cable that connects the nodes will need to be very precise.
- 4 wires: 12v,5v,3.3v,G for driving control logic
- 4 wires: high power, can do 3 phase with ground
- 8 wires: Cat5 twisted pair for comm
The connector will screw together and power will be disabled until the connection is made. The cable should also be able to identify it's max current.
Examples of nodes
- Power sources that can drive the high power lines
- Control computers
- Small displays: Can't drive full monitors with this, but lots of LCD panels that can hold state
- Tools: Can request control.
Considerations
- One network may have several power sources, motors and tools. There should be a way to have a tool confirm the ID of the motor it's connected to and when it's turned on request a dedicated connection to a power source. This would mean that I could have 2 power sources, 3 motors and 5 tools. Any 2 tools could be on at a time.
