Rebuilding to make more room.

Bench will be 2'x12'. A 2' gap near the middle for tools (miter, scroll & router). 4' on one side, 6' on the other. I'm going to stick with the shelf design and keep the placement, It's good for setting down tools. I'm not going to do the lower shelf though.

I want to try some basic joinery on this. For the top, I'm going to cut a 1.5" x 1.75" cube out of each piece of the corner so that the leg slots in.

Features

Drill holsters: I want a spot for the 3 drills and the impact driver where I can just grab them (and put them back).

I'm leaving the front brace off the tool gap, so I need a different way to fit in leaves. I'll run the brace behind it, but I'm going to leave a 1" gap on the rails. So leaves will actually need to be 26" wide.

Router Fence

I was going to get pretty complex on this, but now I think not. Two grooves, much like before, but this time, nothing running perpendicular. In each groove there will be a screw with a wingnut to tighten it, and a piece of wood to keep it straight. The hex of the bolt will slot into the end of the piece of wood to keep it from turning. And I'll cut a hole for the vacuum.

If I ever build another (or help someone), build this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_402348&feature=iv&src_vid=KnNi6Tpp-ac&v=Bt77_jugVZs

Drawers
Uses a concrete top and modular drawer system. It would be nice to have a modular cover as well so that any drawer can be removed and become a toolbox. If I were to throw in some insulation, I could create tool inserts like mine. Would still like to find a reliable way to paint them. I would also move the slides to near the top and add a stop at the back. The drawer could be removed by lifting slightly, but it wouldn't pull all the way out. Being able to label would be nice, maybe epoxy then write on with permanent marker and erase with alcohol.
