These are the notes for updating my desktop

Installing OS

Use Unetbootin to create thumbdrive.

Install windows first, but make sure bios is set to boot to whatever disk you're installing windows on.

Using "Grub Customizer" once everything is installed worked well.

Nvidia

This is always a pain on linux. I got mosaic mode working at one point, but then I couldn't move things between the screens.

I think I need to go in and manually edit the xorg file. Make sure to save this when you get it working.

using xserver-xorg-video-nouveau produces "could not set hte configuration for crtc 64", but gets 3 monitors working pretty well. Maybe this?

Graphics card is: EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1461-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

I'm linking this just because it has an xorg example.
